The Medalist is the monthly newsletter from the US Olympic & Paralympic Sailing Program and the US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics (USSTAG). Our world-class athletes are traveling the globe, racing at some of the biggest, most competitive Olympic and Paralympic class events with the 2012 Games in their sights.   • The Medalist, September 2011 With the announcement of a new format and selection process for the 2012 US Sailing Development Team, this issue provides the details and advice for aspiring young sailors.

  • The Medalist - March 2011 In this issue of The Medalist we introduce you to the 2011 US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics, the 2011 US Sailing Development Team, and the 2011 Youth Worlds Team. Amanda Clark introduces us to her new Women's 470 crew, Mark LeBlanc takes us into his 2.4mR campaign, and we report on the first two ISAF Sailing World Cup events of the new season.
  • The Medalist - September 2010 USSTAG sailors won two bronze medals at Sail for Gold, the final ISAF Sailing World Cup event. Also awarded were Sailing World Cup medals based on accumulated points from the seven events, and USSTAG picked up two silver medals and one bronze. Whitman/Dorset scored a silver medal at the 2010 IFDS Worlds and qualified the U.S. in the SKUD-18 class for the 2012 Paralympic Games.   • The Medalist - June 2010 USSTAG and USSDT athletes wrapped up a successful Kiel Week, winning four medals and grabbing two bullets in the Medal Races at the sixth ISAF Sailing World Cup event. Paige Railey won gold in the Laser Radial for the second year in a row, Clay Johnson won silver in the Laser, Mark Mendelblatt/Magnus Lilljedahl won bronze in the Star, and Anna Tunnicliffe/Molly Vandemoer/Deb Capozzi won bronze in Women's Match Racing.   • The Medalist - February 2010 US SAILING named the members of the new 2010 US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics (USSTAG), the national sailing team comprised of Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls. The 2010 USSTAG is filled with veteran sailing stars including nine Olympians, two Olympic medalists, two Paralympic medalists, five World Champions and three ISAF Sailing World Cup champions as well as rising talents.   • The Medalist - November 2009 The International Sailing Federation (ISAF) named US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics' (USSTAG) Anna Tunnicliffe the recipient of the 2009 ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Award, the most prestigious recognition in the sport of sailing. Tunnicliffe was chosen based on her outstanding achievement in a variety of boats and multiple disciplines during the qualifying period of September 1, 2008 to August 31, 2009.
