Race Officialships

During the 2008 Annual Appeal, Race Adminstration was featured with the intent of offering young sailors the opportunity to participate in race official seminars at little or no cost.

The two primary goals of the Race Officialship initiative are to encourage young sailors to get involved in race administration and participate at their local clubs. President of the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association of North America (ICSA), Mitch Brindley said: "I am excited about US Sailing's new Race Officialship program. This initiative is an opportunity for young adult sailors to pursue an interest in race management and improve the overall process of racing rules enforcement. The funding by US Sailing provides young adults with the incentive they need to expand their knowledge for the sport from an official's perspective."

US Sailing would like to encourage high school and college sailing team members, recent college graduates, and others with time to give back to the sport to take advantage of this new initiative.
