A new structure and selection process for the 2012 US Sailing Development Team has been announced.
2011 US Sailing Development Team
The 2011 US Sailing Development Team (USSDT) is the youth pipeline team supported by US SAILING’s Olympic Sailing Committee (OSC). The USSDT was created in 2009 for young athletes who have been identified as future Olympic prospects. USSDT members will receive elite-level coaching, guidance and mentoring from the Olympic coaching staff who will help these athletes acquire the skills to make independent decisions and to compete at the Olympic level.
2011 US Youth World Team
US SAILING annually supports the Youth World Team, which represents the United States at the Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship. The team members must qualify for the team each year, based on their on-the-water results at a pre-determined qualifying event or resume.
