2013 US Sailing Team Sperry Top-Sider
The US Sailing Team Sperry Top-Sider is managed by the United States Sailing Association (US Sailing), the national governing body for the sport of sailing and sailboat racing, and the Olympic Sailing Committee (OSC). The 2013 team is comprised of the top athletes in each Olympic and Paralympic class
The 10 Olympic classes chosen to compete at the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil are: Laser Radial (women), Laser (men), Finn (men), Men’s RS:X, Women’s RS:X, 49er (men), Men’s 470, Women’s 470, Nacra 17 (mixed) and 49er FX (women). The three Paralympic classes are: 2.4mR (open), SKUD18 (mixed) and Sonar (open).

US Sailing provides the members of the 2013 US Sailing Team Sperry Top-Sider with financial, fundraising, logistical, performance (including coaching and on-and-off-the-water fitness training) and marketing and communication support. The US Sailing Team Sperry Top-Sider is led by Managing Director of U.S. Olympic Sailing Josh Adams (Essex, Mass.), Olympic Sailing Committee Chairman Ben Richardson (Gloucester, Mass.), High Performance Director Charlie McKee (Coronado, Calif.), Communications Director Dana Paxton (Newport, R.I.), Commercial Manager Katie Smith (Newport, R.I.), Olympic Manager Meredith Muller (Newport, R.I.), and Olympic Coordinator Will Ricketson (Newport, R.I.). In addition to McKee, the team is coached by Betsy Alison (Newport, R.I.), Romain Bonnaud (Miami, Fla.), Luther Carpenter (La Porte, Texas), and Leandro Spina (Miami, Fla.).
